Talking Straight with Hollie Azzopardi

The health, wellbeing & lifestyle industry is full of some pretty amazing people & we're so excited to have had the opportunity to chat with the lovely Hollie Azzopardi - intuitive, body image advocate & co-host at The Middle Podcast for our 'Talking Straight' series.

SUPR: What does your morning routine look like?

HA: I used to be super strict and regimented with my morning routine & found that rather than adding value to my mornings, it created rigidity and stress if I didn’t get everything ‘done’ on my morning routine to-do list. Today my non-negotiables are tongue scraping, 20 minutes of Vedic Meditation, my skincare routine (I am LOVING Mukti Organics products) & some form of movement - be it a beachside walk with tunes pumping, or dancing in my living room. Music always helps in getting my day started in the high vibe feels!

SUPR: What does ‘health’ mean to you?

HA: Health is a holistic term to me. It is so much more than the foods we eat & how often we move (although yes, they are important!). To me, health is mind, body & soul. The techniques & tools we use to cultivate a positive mindset, relaxed mental state, de-stressed nervous system & sense of love and connection in amongst all of that (soul).

SUPR: What are five things you’ll always have in your fridge / pantry?

HA:

- Cacao

- Pulse pasta

- Pukka Cocoa & Chilli tea

- Organic veg (usually baby spinach, asparagus, cucumber & cherry tomatoes)

- Avocado (it gets its own category)

SUPR: What’s your favourite form of movement?

HA: It’s a tie between dance & coastal walks - I’m obsessed with the Spit to Manly walk! Music MUST be involved!

SUPR: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be & why?

HA: Byron Bay - it’s my soul home. I am my best self when I am there - the energy is so relaxed, you can walk barefoot everywhere, people are so unique & doing their own thing without fear of judgement & you can get an oat milk cacao anywhere!

SUPR: What is one fun fact most people wouldn’t know about you?

HA :I studied journalism at Uni & wanted to be a Getaway host or news reporter!

SUPR: Why is it important to you to be Straight Up & authentic? Have you ever struggled in the past with being your true self?

HA: Authenticity is my number one value - it is so much more than a buzz word to me. When we are authentic we are vibrating at an energetic frequency of alignment - & when we are aligned, life flows. There is so much force and resistance required when we are showing up inauthentically. There have been moments where I have worn masks depending on the situation (& there still are - Libra moon sign here!) - but I am getting much better at standing in my truth authentically. It requires so little effort other than recognition of limiting beliefs - & feels so much better when you are showing up as you!

SUPR: The health industry isn’t perfect. If you had the power to change one thing about it, what would it be & why?

HA: I am extremely passionate about body image & diversity within that. The health industry has a way to go when it comes to fairly depicting what health looks like on ALL bodies. I would love to see a more diverse representation of shapes, sizes & backgrounds attending health industry events, as the faces of health brand campaigns, & as voices that have platforms in the industry.
