New Zealand King Salmon Makes a Splash in the Aussie Seafood Space

Landing in the chilled, seafood section of Coles, Regal are the first to bring New Zealand King Salmon to major retailers, treating Australians to salmon royalty.


Celebrating the King salmon, a different species of salmon to what is farmed in Australia, Regal are thrilled to share their elevated salmon offering to consumers. Raised in the clean & cold waters of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds, the quality & temperature of the pristine water ensures the best possible flavour & nutrient retention for salmon lovers, & great quality of life for the fish.

A rare catch, King Salmon make up 0.7% of the world salmon & New Zealand King Salmon produce over 50% of the world’s King Salmon, making Regal the experts in the industry.

Thrilled to provide Australians with a premium, sustainable salmon solution, Global Marketing Manager at Regal, Sahra Cliffe, says “King Salmon is known for its delicious texture & we’re delighted that Australians will now be able to experience the King Salmon difference with Regal Salmon’s smoked salmon offering. The New Zealand King Salmon industry received the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Green/Best Choice rating, the first marine-farmed salmon to achieve this prestigious rating.

From 11th October 2021, Regal’s Cold Smoked Salmon Slices (RRP$9) & Wood Roasted Portions (RRP$12) will be available in Coles nationwide from the refrigerated smoked salmon aisle.
